MiGi Privacy Policy
Our promise: MiGi is built privacy-first. Everything you record about your health — attacks, symptoms, triggers, medications — is stored only on your device. We have no user accounts and no servers that hold your health data. We cannot see, sell, or share what you track, because it never reaches us.
1. Who we are
MiGi ("we", "us") is a migraine and headache tracking app. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it goes, and the choices you have. If anything is unclear, contact us at the email at the bottom of this page.
2. Data you record in MiGi
When you use MiGi you may log attacks (time, pain intensity, pain quality, affected body regions), symptoms, triggers, relief methods, medications, symptom-free days, and personal custom items. All of this is stored in a local database on your device.
- It is never uploaded to our servers — we don't operate any servers for user data.
- No account or registration is required, and none exists.
- Deleting the app deletes this data from your device.
3. Apple Health
With your explicit permission, MiGi can connect to Apple Health:
- Read: sleep and menstrual cycle data, used only on your device to help you find patterns behind your attacks.
- Write: the headache attacks you log can be added to Apple Health.
Health data is processed entirely on your device. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party, never used for advertising or marketing, and never shared with data brokers. You can revoke access at any time in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security → Health.
4. Weather and location
MiGi can correlate your attack history with local barometric pressure. To do this, the app asks for your approximate location (reduced accuracy) and uses it to request weather data from Apple WeatherKit. Your location is used for these weather requests only — MiGi stores the resulting pressure values, not your location, and your location is never sent to us. Apple's handling of WeatherKit requests is described in Apple's Privacy Policy. This feature is optional and works only if you grant location permission.
5. iCloud backup
You can optionally back up your MiGi data to your personal iCloud Drive. Backups are stored in your private iCloud container, protected by your Apple account. We have no access to your iCloud and cannot read your backups. You can delete backups at any time from within the app or from iCloud Drive.
6. Exporting and sharing
MiGi lets you export your data as a PDF report (for example, to show your doctor) or as a .migi backup file to move your data to another device. Exports are generated on your device and are shared only when and where you choose, using your device's share options. Once you share an export, its further handling is up to you and the app or person you shared it with.
7. Usage analytics (optional)
To understand which features are useful, MiGi collects anonymous usage statistics through Aptabase, a privacy-first analytics service. These events describe app usage only — for example "an attack was logged" or "a report was opened" — and never include the contents of your health data: no pain levels, symptoms, triggers, medications, dates of attacks, or anything else you record. Aptabase does not use device identifiers or track you across apps.
You can turn analytics off at any time in the app's Settings.
8. Crash reporting
If the app crashes or malfunctions, a technical report may be sent to Sentry so we can fix the problem. These reports contain technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, and the error's technical details. They do not contain the health data you record in the app.
9. Subscriptions and purchases
Payments for MiGi's premium features are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store — we never see your name, payment details, or billing address. To manage subscription status, the app uses RevenueCat, which processes an anonymous, randomly generated identifier and purchase receipt information. This is not linked to your identity or your health data.
10. Notifications
Reminders and notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No notification data is sent to us or to third parties.
11. Data retention and deletion
- Your health data lives only on your device (and, if enabled, in your private iCloud). Deleting the app removes it from your device; you control your iCloud backups.
- Analytics data is anonymous and cannot be linked back to you, so it cannot be individually retrieved or deleted.
- Crash reports are retained only as long as needed to diagnose and fix problems.
12. Your rights
Because your data stays under your control, you can exercise your rights directly: view everything in the app, export it at any time, and delete it by removing entries or uninstalling the app. If you are in a region with data-protection laws such as the GDPR, you may also contact us with questions or requests about the limited technical data described above (analytics and crash reports), and we will help where we are able to.
13. Children's privacy
MiGi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
14. Changes to this policy
If we change how MiGi handles data, we will update this policy and the effective date above. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
